Terms of Service

About HIM is a Bible education and discipleship companion application. It provides visual psalm devotionals, scripture reading, an AI prayer companion, daily prayers, and a personal discipleship journal. The Service uses the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain.

You must be at least 13 years old to use About HIM.

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

About HIM is free to use, and the Service does not currently accept payments. That includes the daily psalm with its artwork, every narrated psalm, the three daily prayers, the full library including the Ethiopian canon, search, and your Discipleship Log.

Two features that cost us money to provide have a monthly allowance rather than being unlimited: the AI Prayer Companion and the reflections written on your Discipleship Log entries. The allowance resets on the first of each calendar month, and the app tells you where you stand before you reach it. Nothing is charged when you reach it.

About HIM Plus is a paid plan we are building. When it arrives it will lift those monthly allowances. It is not on sale yet, there is nothing to buy in the app, and no payment method is collected anywhere. We will give notice in the app before anything becomes paid, and nothing that is free today will be taken away to make room for it.

When About HIM Plus does launch, it will be sold and billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play rather than by us, and it will renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. You will be able to cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops the next charge, and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. We will never see or store your payment details.

Refunds, when there is anything to refund, will be handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We will not be able to issue them directly, though we will help where we can.

If we change what is included in the free tier or in About HIM Plus, or change the price, we will give notice in the app before the change takes effect. A price change to an existing subscription also requires your consent through the store.

The AI Prayer Companion uses artificial intelligence to find relevant Bible scriptures and generate prayers based on what you share. The prayers are generated by AI and are not a substitute for personal prayer, pastoral counsel, or professional advice. The scriptures referenced are from the Berean Standard Bible. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors.

You retain ownership of all content you create in the Service, including Discipleship Log entries. By using the sharing feature, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display your shared content to anyone who accesses the shared link. You may revoke this by unsharing or deleting the entry.

You agree not to use the Service to post or share content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.

The Berean Standard Bible text is used under its public domain dedication. Additional Ethiopian canon texts (Enoch, Jubilees, Sirach, etc.) are presented from public domain translations. Our original content, including the daily prayers, the Rise/Pause/Rest prayer rhythm, devotional writing and commentary, and images, is the intellectual property of Jigiya Tech LLC.

The Service, including its design, images, original content, and code, is the property of Jigiya Tech LLC and is protected by copyright law. The name "About HIM," the HIM logo, and "Rise & Pray" are trademarks of Jigiya Tech LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. The AI Prayer Companion generates content using artificial intelligence and may not always be accurate or appropriate. The Service is not a substitute for professional counseling, medical advice, or pastoral care.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jigiya Tech LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the app by opening your Profile and choosing "Delete my account." Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your Discipleship Log entries, preferences, shared links, and notification subscriptions. You may also request deletion by emailing support@abouthim.app.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States.
